Methodology & assessment
The theoretical foundation is built through dynamic lectures, engaging discussions, and real-life case studies. Participants actively contribute to group discussions, share personal insights, and engage in workshops to apply their knowledge in identifying and addressing mental health issues within an educational context.
Continuous evaluation is woven into the course structure, with daily reflections serving as a means of self-assessment. Group activities, including the development of checklists and action plans, encourage collaborative problem-solving. Practical workshops involve role-playing and case studies, enabling educators to simulate and strategize sensitive conversations and implement inclusive classroom practices.
A key highlight is the action planning segment, where participants design initiatives for implementing mental health awareness in their respective schools. Peer presentations foster collaborative learning, providing valuable feedback and refining strategies.
Assessment criteria encompass active participation, demonstrated comprehension in discussions, effective application of strategies in practical exercises, and the quality of action plans. The reflective session at the course's conclusion facilitates self-assessment and personal growth, incorporating insights into overcoming challenges encountered in promoting mental health within educational settings.
This comprehensive methodology ensures that educators not only gain theoretical knowledge but also develop practical skills. The assessment approach prioritizes active engagement, collaboration, and the practical application of learned strategies, empowering educators to create supportive and empathetic educational environments that prioritize mental health alongside academic success.
