Description

Job shadowing within the Erasmus+ Program is a short-term mobility format for professional development. It allows teachers to observe and learn from experienced educators in their classrooms and schools abroad. Participants gain insight into different teaching styles, classroom management techniques, and strategies for student engagement and motivation. In addition to observing the host teacher, they may attend school activities and seminars and participate in cultural experiences, providing a broader international perspective on education.

Learning objectives

The Erasmus+ Program aims to provide teachers with the opportunity to develop their professional skills and knowledge, while also promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration in education. Through job shadowing experiences, teachers can gain valuable insights and perspectives that can enhance their teaching practice and benefit their students.

By the end of this mobility, we expect teachers to develop professional skills and learn and share different cultures while learning from different work situations and environments.

Other learning outcomes:

  • Facilitate experience and cultural exchanges between European participants and Portuguese teaching personnel, which results in a fruitful international experience
  • Enhance communicative competencies in English and social skills
  • Promote intercultural awareness
  • Identify and share good practices that can be implemented at a local level
