Description

Effective classroom management is the foundation of great teaching. If you're looking for strategies that go beyond traditional discipline and foster a truly positive and productive learning environment, this course is for you. We will explore innovative, research-backed approaches that focus on building strong student-teacher relationships, promoting intrinsic motivation, and creating a community of respectful learners. 

 

 Topics covered include proactive strategies vs. reactive punishments, restorative practices, fostering student autonomy and responsibility, and designing engaging classroom routines. Through interactive workshops and collaborative discussions, you will gain a toolkit of practical techniques to reduce disruptions, increase student engagement, and create a classroom where every student feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

 - Identify the key principles of proactive classroom management versus reactive discipline. 

 - Develop practical strategies for building positive, trust-based relationships with all students. 

 - Implement restorative practices to resolve conflicts constructively and repair harm. 

 - Design classroom routines and structures that foster student autonomy and responsibility. 

 - Acquire a toolkit of techniques to increase student engagement and minimize disruptive behavior.

Methodology & assessment

This course utilizes a collaborative and problem-solving methodology. It combines expert input on best practices with interactive workshops, case study analysis, and group discussions. Participants are encouraged to share their own classroom challenges and work together to co-create practical, context-specific solutions.

The focus is on reflective practice and strategic planning. Assessment is based on active participation in discussions and scenario-based tasks, as well as the development of a comprehensive classroom management action plan to be implemented upon return to school. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Participants will receive a digital resource pack including key theoretical readings, practical case studies, and a collection of ready-to-use templates for creating classroom routines and student contracts. We will utilize collaborative digital whiteboards for brainstorming and problem-solving sessions. After the course, a shared online drive with further resources will be available.

Certification details

Upon successful completion of the course, all participants will receive a formal Certificate of Attendance from Erasmus Mobility Academy. The certificate will officially state: the participant's full name, the full course title, the course dates and location, the main topics covered, and the total number of educational hours (25 hours), corresponding to this application form. The document will be signed by the head trainer and will serve as proof of participation for the Erasmus+ Programme.

    Force Majeure & Erasmus+ Flexibility: In case of a force majeure situation, we will cooperate fully. We offer to reschedule the participation to a future session free of charge, or provide all documents needed for the participant's NA to reclaim the fee.
