Healthy Teachers, Healthy Schools: Promoting Physical and Mental Wellbeing in Education
This is an Erasmus course organized to support teachers and school staff in taking care of their physical and mental health. Teaching can be stressful and demanding, and this course helps educators find practical ways to improve their wellbeing and reduce stress in everyday school life
Description
Through hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical examples, participants will learn simple strategies to build resilience, improve work–life balance, and create a more positive and supportive school environment. The course highlights the importance of healthy teachers as the basis for healthy, successful schools and happier students.
- Beside lessons, we have a touristical visit for each day.

Learning objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of physical and mental wellbeing for teachers and its impact on teaching quality and school climate
- Identify common sources of stress, burnout, and physical strain in the education profession
- Apply practical strategies to reduce stress and support emotional resilience in daily school life
- Develop healthy habits related to movement, relaxation, and work–life balance
- Use simple wellbeing tools and activities that can be integrated into the classroom and staff environment
- Promote a positive, supportive, and wellbeing-focused school culture
- Share good practices and experiences with educators from different European countries
- Design small, realistic wellbeing actions or plans to implement in their own schools
Methodology & assessment
Peer learning and the exchange of good practices are strongly encouraged, allowing participants to learn from each other’s experiences and educational contexts. The course also includes individual reflection time to support personal and professional development.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
The course uses a variety of learning materials, including trainer presentations, worksheets, practical guides, and reflection tools. Digital resources such as online collaboration platforms, videos, and wellbeing apps are used to support learning and sharing. Participants also receive practical resources and templates that can be adapted and used in their own school contexts
