Description

We live in a time of increased stress in the world. Not only we, as educators, are struggling with stress but also our pupils experience varying stressful situations. Negative situations at home, in schools, drastic shifts in society but also positive changes can lead to stress in children. The ability to manage stress is an important skill because it has an impact on our body and health, our relationships, performance, and productivity and can lead to a longer, happier life.

Self-regulation, flexibility, and wellbeing are three competencies we will examine in this course so that we can become role models for our pupils and teach them how to manage their stress and improve their academic performance, behaviour, and life.

Learning objectives

  • Reflect on their own emotional intelligence
  • Design a self-regulation toolkit and wellbeing plan
  • Examine the competences of the LifeComp Framework and more specifically the personal competences
  • Discover ideas and learning activities to foster self-regulation, flexibility, and wellbeing
  • Create strategies to teach their students to manage stress and assess those created by your peers.

Methodology & assessment

The course is offered as an asynchronous course with flexibility in regard to when and where participants follow the course content and join the course activities. However, there is a final deadline in place for the submission of a course product. Participants are required to actively contribute to the course activities by sharing their work and submitting a course product. This product is submitted and assessed by peers or the course instructor in the final module of the course.
