Digitalisation and No Hate in Schools
This course allows the participants to become familiar with the most common digital competences frameworks for education and self-assessment tools, to explore digital tools to innovate their teaching approach and deepen their knowledge of Media and Information Literacy (MIL)’s implications and how they can be fundamental in combating hate speech phenomena on- and offline.

Digitalisation and No Hate in Schools is designed to equip teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the digital landscape effectively and promote a safe, inclusive online environment for their students. By incorporating the DigCompEdu framework and SELFIE for teachers, the course will provide a comprehensive overview of digital literacy and its application in educational settings.

- Media and Information Literacy (MIL): Explore the concepts of MIL and its relevance in today's digital age. Learn how to critically evaluate information, identify the most common disorders, and promote media literacy among students.

Learning objectives
Thanks to this course the participants will:
- understand the key concepts and principles of digital literacy and MIL;
- prevent, identify and address properly hate speech episodes in educational settings;
- effectively use digital tools and platforms to enhance teaching and learning;
- critically evaluate information and promote media literacy among students;
- develop digital activities and MIL curricula that are inclusive and engaging;
- apply the DigCompEdu framework and SELFIE for teachers to assess and improve their digital skills;
- exchange experiences and best practices in a multicultural environment with European participants and staff;
- learn and cooperate in an international context, also improving English communication and teamwork skills;
- get to know and make contacts with European colleagues and organisations thanks to team building and networking activities.
Methodology & assessment
Assessment will be carried out at the end of every training day and at the end of the course, in order to tailor the learning experience to the participants’ needs, attitudes and competences. Pre- and post- evaluation of the participants will be conducted as well, so as to measure the course’s efficacy.

Certification details
After completing the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance and the Europass Mobility Certificate.
