Description

Moving beyond traditional lessons, this course invites educators to explore how narrative, media, and creativity can unlock deeper student engagement, critical thinking, and real-world learning.

Participants will explore multiple storytelling genres—from documentaries to digital diaries, animations, and interactive narratives—while learning how to guide students through the full creative process: from idea generation to publishing. By the end of the course, teachers will leave with classroom-ready project plans, a practical toolkit, and renewed enthusiasm for student-centered learning.

Learning objectives

  1. Guide students through the full digital storytelling process – from idea generation and scripting to production and presentation.
  2. Use a variety of digital tools (e.g., video editors, podcast platforms, animation apps) to support creative storytelling in the classroom.
  3. Design cross-curricular projects that integrate digital storytelling to enhance collaboration, creativity, and content understanding.
  4. Apply storytelling as a method for formative assessment and student reflection to support deeper learning.
  5. Support students in developing digital literacy skills and responsible online content creation.
  6. Promote inclusion and amplify student voice by enabling personalized expression through multimedia storytelling.
