CLIL project work at early ages
This is a course addressed to English teachers or staff at pre-school level who would like to delve deeper into CLIL and how to implement it with young learners through project work, where both content and language are worked integratedly. Pre-school children are naturally curious about the world around them and exposed to new concepts and content all the time.
Description
The teacher has just to exploit everyday activities in order to use children's potential to promote subject and language integrated learning. Through theory and practical tasks, participants will acquire knowledge and skills in choosing curriculum content suitable for children of different ages, strategies and experiences to make integrated learning active and fun.
Participants will deep knowledge on the following content:
- CLIL principles, Do’s and Don’ts, practical activities on CLIL.
- Project Work: principles, stages, examples, practical activities on project work. How to start project work from storybooks
- Worked examples of CLIL projects at Pre-Primary Education. Hands-on work in cooperative groups on activities, tasks and resources for project work at Early Ages.
- How to write and develop a full project work: worked examples

Learning objectives
The main objectives of this program are to:
- know the key aspects and elements of the CLIL methodological approach.
- know the different stages of project work.
- know practical ideas on activities and tasks for different CLIL projects at pre-primary level.
- know different scaffolding techniques can be used to help early years children acquire both content and the second language.
- become familiar with materials and resources for CLIL project work at early years.
- create and develop some CLIL activities, tasks and resources for different project examples.
- create some mini-CLIL projects in a collaborative way
