CHILDREN'S LITERATURE 5 DAYS IN CORFU
Literature for children has revealed itself as one of the most powerful paths in education. It’s through the pedagogical contents in books that the student will access any area of knowledge. This course is aimed at teachers and all those who want to develop imagination, emotions and feelings through literature. OID in Greece: E10049405.
Description
The course consists of 25 didactic hours and includes the following modules:
- Introduction of participants, warm-ups and ice breakers, outline of the programme
- What is Literature for Children
- History of Literature for Children
- Main literary references and landmarks
- Reading mediation and mediator of Reading
- Diversity of literary genres
- Storytelling techniques
- Main features of a children’s book according to different age levels: text and
illustration - Individual support
- Presentation of outcomes, discussion, evaluation and closing session
There is also an organized island tour with a licenced tour guide to discover the cultural significance and natural beauties of Corfu and network with colleagues.

- Understand Literature for Children and its history.
- Discover iconic figures of Literature for Children.
- Identify different genres in Literature for Children.
- Point out the main features of children’s books.
- Recognize the role of mediation in reading.
- Improving English fluency (official language of the course).
- Promoting intercultural awareness.
- Sharing experiences of working with children's literature from different perspectives in order to help each of us to be more effective in our work.
- Strengthening the European collaboration among people involved in the use of children's literature in education in different contexts.
- Providing insights into different education systems.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
All the materials will be made available to the participants in digital form upon completion of the course.
Certification details
Certificate complies with the guidelines of the Erasmus+ programme and includes the topic, number of didactic hours, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants. In case. A participant requires a specific format of certificate we can accommodate that if requested at least one week before the start of the course. It is necessary to attend at least 80% of the hours in order to receive the certificate.

Course package content:
The course fee includes tuition and materials for the course and all administrative work. There is also one cultural activity for networking and socialising covered by the course fee.
Accommodation, meals and transportation are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves.
We do not charge anything extra apart from the 400 EUR course fee.

Cancellation & changes:
Free cancellation up to 30 days before the start. After that, the reservation is not refundable. Changes in name and profile of the participant are possible any time before the start of the course. In case of extraordinary circumstances, we will offer a free re-scheduling to be used within 6 months.
