Description

The goals of the course are to (further) develop effective communication, enable participants to recognize and maximize their personal strengths, help them unlock motivation in themselves and their students, develop and employ empathy to strengthen relationships and impact, and to manage conflicts.

Participants will be encouraged to reflect and share their own views and experiences, will receive research-based input on the above topics and examine how to apply this input to their own specific situations. Participants will also have the opportunity to develop their people skills in discussions and role plays over the course of the week.

Learning objectives

This course develops a global understanding of people skills and their value in teaching and teamwork. It helps participants recognize their potential, build stronger relationships, increase impact, and boost performance. Key focus areas: effective communication, maximizing strengths, unlocking motivation, developing empathy, managing conflict, and exploring how to teach these skills to students.

Methodology & assessment

The course uses an interactive, learner-centred methodology based on reflection, discussion, pair and group work, and role play. Participants receive research-informed input and explore how to apply key soft skills in real-life teaching and team scenarios. Progress is assessed informally through active participation, peer and trainer feedback, and self-reflection activities. There is no formal exam; instead, learning is demonstrated through engagement, contribution, and application of new strategies during tasks and discussions.

Certification details

The Learning Agreement sample includes all course details (skills, objectives, outcomes, timetable). Upon completion, participants receive a certificate of attendance, and their Learning Agreement Complement or Europass Mobility Certificate will be signed. The course meets European Commission Quality Standards, e.g., "a day of physical course activities includes at least five hours of learning activities" and "the course setup provides opportunities to meet peers from other countries."
