eTwinning Project: Engineers of the Ecosystem

A prize-winning eTwinning project for students aged up to 6 years. The project allows students to study and design animal houses and thereby learn about science, technology, engineering, arts and maths at preschool level.
Engineers of the ecosystem

This eTwinning project aims to establish the foundations of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) at preschool level. It includes a range of ideas and resources that can be used by preschool teachers to introduce pupils to concepts linked to ecosystems, climate change, architecture and engineering. The project won the 2022 European runner-up prize for eTwinning projects for pupils aged up to 6 years.

In this project, pupils study and redesign the houses of animals using the most ecological materials. Animals build extraordinary looking houses with the most amazing engineering designs that have inspired many architects and engineers. While designing the homes of animals, pupils will also investigate the negative effects of climate change on the animal world. Through the design of animal homes, pupils also propose solutions to some of the problems animals face as a result of climate change.
