What does food tell us about our culture and traditions?– A culinary journey around Europe through time

The project will be done by a group of students in Year 11 in the course European Studies at the Anne-Frank School in Gütersloh in Germany who are interested in knowing more about Europe, their traditions and food. They want to look at their culinary traditions and the culinary traditions of other European countries. They start exploring the traditional food and dishes from their region, looking at the food and cooking customs of past generations in their region and their country and compare them with current developments. Furthermore, they want to relate culinary traditions with local history. Then they intend to exchange information with their partners on their culinary customs through time. Finally they want to collect interesting recipes, try some of them out and show how to prepare them.
