In your groups say a brief hello and where you are from and then try to answer the following questions together:
- Where in your city do you think the heat is the strongest, and why?
(Think about materials like concrete, lack of trees, traffic, buildings, etc.) - What simple changes could we introduce in our local environment (school, neighbourhood, streets) to reduce heat and make it more comfortable?
(For example: planting trees, using different materials, adding shade, water elements…) - If you could redesign one place in your city to make it cooler and more sustainable, what would you change and how would it help reduce the urban heat island effect?

Twinspace Chat – Urban Heat Islands (April 29–30, 2026)
Students met in the Twinspace chat room to share the hottest spots in their cities, simple ideas to reduce heat, and sustainable redesign suggestions. The event raised environmental awareness and encouraged international collaboration for common solutions.
