When computer science meets movement

68 students and teachers participated in the third mobility part of the Erasmus+ project “Unity in Motion” in Bitola, N. Macedonia from September 22 to September 26, 2025.

Days in Bitola brought new knowledge, travels and socializing, and hosts from SOU Taki Daskalo Bitola school made them feel at home in their city.

A special emphasis on this mobility was on connecting physical activity and computer science classes. Through various workshops, students learned how movement can be integrated into digital content and tasks, making teaching more interesting, dynamic and healthy. Examples of good practice they saw in Bitola have shown that a combination of technology and physical activity can motivate students and contribute to better concentration and learning.

One of the highlights of the stay was a trip to Ohrid, where the students enjoyed riding a SUP on the lake and learned how to properly use this popular water equipment, and then had the opportunity to get to know this city's unique history and beauty. Staying in Bitola has been enriched by new friendships, workshops, sports activities and exploration of landmarks - from the ancient site of Heraclea Lyncestis to the mountain trails of Pelister National Park.

Mobility has brought new experiences, knowledge and memories to everyone, but has also shown how joint learning and cultural exchange can enrich school life. 

Here is how each day unfolded:

Day 1: 

- Welcome activities at SOU Taki Daskalo Bitola

- Visit the City Museum

- Student's presentations 

- Visit the historical and cultural places in Bitola

Day 2:

- Programing and physical education – doing lessons in collaboration with Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies – Bitola 

- Virtual reality with fine motor skills using SprayVerse and WeldVR 

- Afternoon activities in the school’s sport hall. Traditional Macedonian and modern sport activities

Day 3:

Programing and physical education – doing lessons in collaboration with Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies – Bitola 

- 360⁰ video and full dome video creation and presenting 

- Meeting with the mayor of Bitola

- Guided tour in the ancient city Heraclea Lyncestis. 

Day 4:

- SUP (Stand-up paddleboarding) activity in Ohrid Lake 

- visit to Ohrid, UNESCO's World Heritage city

 Day 5:

- Hike and outdoor activities at National Park Pelister

- Visit an exhibition placed in the National Park Info Center 

- Hike along the historical path from the First World War

- Farewell party at school
