Sustainable Schools for sustainable societies - ss4ss

The aim of this project is to raise the pupils’ awareness of the role of education for sustainable development and to encourage them to reflect on, assess and share their school experiences as well as to explore ways of making education more accessible and sustainable. The project draws from the EU and UNESCO frameworks for quality education for sustainable development and centres around the concepts of sustainable lifestyles, equity, accessibility, inclusion, 21st century skills, and other indicators of quality education which were already explored and chosen by the pupils and the teachers involved in the project. It will take about a month to explore each subtopic. The topics will be: "My dream school", “What makes a good school?”, "Inequality in education", “Lobbying for quality education” and "Digital tools for quality education" . In a safe virtual learning environment like TwinSpace, our pupils will get to know one another, investigate and collaborate asynchronously online in small international groups, share knowledge and experiences, and create presentational outputs for the follow up and dissemination of our project. Because of the wide age range of our pupils (12 to 17), we hope that they will benefit from peer teaching and peer learning.
