STEM for Green Life

1. Introduction In a world where environmental protection and responsible consumption are becoming priorities, students need to understand the scientific processes behind everyday products. Through practical experiments in chemistry, biology, and physics, the project aims to develop critical thinking, STEM competences, and ecological awareness. Through collaboration between teachers and students from several European countries, the project transforms STEM knowledge into concrete actions: observing natural processes, carrying out practical experiments, recycling materials, taking active steps to protect the planet, and creating a green and inspiring relaxation corner in each school. The project seeks to create a lasting connection between schools, based on common values, applied science, and environmental responsibility — a connection that lays the foundation for long-term European collaboration. 2. Project Aim To develop a positive and conscious attitude towards the environment by applying STEM principles in practical and creative activities that contribute to a green and sustainable life. To lay the foundations for a European network of green STEM schools. 3. Objectives • To develop students’ scientific curiosity through interdisciplinary practical experiments (chemistry, biology, physics), applying theoretical knowledge to real-life situations. • To build observation, measurement, and interpretation skills through laboratory sheets, data recording, and presentation of results in digital formats (posters, presentations, e-book). • To promote international collaboration and teamwork by creating mixed groups among partner schools, participating in online meetings, and producing joint outputs (logo, poster, digital journal). • To raise ecological awareness through recycling activities (handmade paper production, material reuse, creating eco-products such as soap or natural dyes). • To engage students in direct ecological actions through community green activities (tree planting, creating the “Green Corner – Our Relaxation and Inspiration Space”). • To create a common European product – the e-book “STEM for Green Life – Our Green Europe” – showcasing the results of all activities and the positive impact of science on the environment and society. • To establish the foundation for a European Network of Green STEM Schools (STEM Green Schools Network), which will continue collaboration through the exchange of good practices and future projects focused on green and sustainable education Through STEM for Green Life, students learn that science is not just a school subject, but a way of living responsibly, creatively, and connected to the future of our planet
