Meeting in Greece
The meeting took place from Mon 27th November until Friday 1st December 2023 in Galatsi, Athens, Greece and was hosted by 3 Geniko Lykeio Galatsi.
There participants were:
- 10 teachers and 36 students of 3 Geniko Lykeio Galatsi, Greece
- 2 teachers and 5 students of Gimnazija Josipa Slavenskog, Croatia
- 2 teachers and 5 students of I.T.E.T. L.da Vinci Milazzo, Italy
- 2 teachers and 5 students of Vilniaus Zveryno gimnazija, Lithuannia
- 3 teachers and 5 students Ogolnoksztalcace im.Janusza Korczaka w Wieluniu, Poland.
The meeting agenda included the following activities:
Mon 27th Nov 2023
Welcome ceremony, Icebreaking activity, Sports activities.
Presentations about Green Skills and Jobs by all teams.
2 parallel workshops: (i) get acquainted with the etwinning platform and create social media accounts for the project, (ii) create a small hydroponic garden
Tue 28th Nov 2023
Sightseeing in the historical centre of Athens. Visit to the Acropolis and scavenger hunt at the Acropolis museum.
Wed 29th Nov 2023
Excursion to the mainland. Stop at Kamena Vourla and visit to Plastira lake to experience how a dam formulated the lake and effected its surroundings about (i) formulating an incredible natural landscape and promoting ecotourism, (ii) producing energy in a hydroelectric power station, (iii)
providing irrigation on the Thessalian plain, and (iv) supplying water to nearby cities. Overnight Mouzaki Palace Hotel.
Thu 30th Nov 2023
Visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Meteora. Learn about the astonishing rock formations and visit two of its Byzantine monasteries perched on top of the rocks.
Visit to the “smart city” of Trikala. Learn about the innovative technology-powered solutions integrated into the daily lives of its citizens (such as free internet to households, driverless buses, sensor-equipped streetlights, and 5G technology). Experience how citywide bike lanes promote the use of bikes.
