Smart Words, Smart Worlds is a 3-month eTwinning project (February–April 2026) for students aged 11-15. It connects English learning with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help students develop the five “skills for life” (eTwinning 2025 Theme)— literacy, digital competence, citizenship, mathematics, and science — through creative, real-world tasks. Students from different European schools will explore how AI shapes their lives, co-write stories, collect small data surveys, and design posters, create songs or videos promoting responsible technology use.Guided by their teachers, they will communicate in English, think critically about ethics, and collaborate safely online. The project includes regular teacher–teacher meetings for coordination and reflection, and student–teacher meetingsfor guidance, sharing, and discussion. Using TwinSpace, Canva, Padlet, Genially, Google tools, and eTwinning Live, participants will work together in international teams to produce a final digital exhibition: “Smart Words, Smart Worlds Showcase.” By combining English and AI, students will discover that smart use of words and technology builds smarter, kinder, and more connected worlds — true skills for life for their future. Connection to eTwinning Theme “Skills for Life” (2025–2026): This project supports the EU Basic Skills Action Plan by promoting: Literacy: English reading and writing on real-life themes. Mathematics: Simple, meaningful data activities. Science: Curiosity about how AI learns and works. Digital Competence: Responsible use of online and AI tools. Citizenship: Collaboration, critical thinking, and ethics in digital society. By combining smart words and smart worlds, students build lifelong skills for communication, creativity, and responsible citizenship in a rapidly changing digital age.
