Proposal from students and teachers of SU “Hristo Botev”

town of Sungurlare for activities, ideas and examples of contribution to the implementation of the project accompanied by educational resources.

 

Course objectives:

1. Development of digital competencies – increasing the technical skills of students and teachers.

2. Integration of innovative educational technologies – use of interactive platforms, AI-based tools and cloud services.

3. Reducing gaps in learning through digital methods for personalized learning.

4. Formation of critical thinking and information literacy – analysis and evaluation of information in the digital environment.

Activities and content:

  • Practical seminars – working with educational platforms Kahoot, Canva and mozaBook, Digital Backpack, Smar test, etc.).
  • Module “Cybersecurity and Digital Ethics” – protection of personal data and responsible behavior on the Internet.
  • Project-based learning – creation of digital presentations, interactive lessons.
  • Use of AI and ChatGPT – integration of artificial intelligence for creating teaching materials and individualized learning.

Educational resources:

  • Video lessons and online courses – interactive learning through platforms such as Khan Academy, Ucha se, etc.
  • Digital guides and e-textbooks – accessible to all students and teachers.
  • Practical tasks and case studies – real situations for developing digital skills.
  • Data analysis and processing software – Excel, Python, Scratch

Expected results:

  • Increasing the digital skills of students and teachers.
  • Reducing knowledge gaps through personalized learning resources.
  • Increasing motivation through interactive methods.
  • Successful implementation of digital technologies in the learning process.

Conclusion:

The implementation of the new curriculum within the SLEGS project will create a sustainable environment for innovative learning and will allow students and teachers to develop the necessary digital competencies for the future.

In this PADLET digital tool, students and teachers talk about the benefits of the digital skills they have acquired during their education.

They talk about digital skills:

-confident use of the internet on a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or computer,

-confidence in using work systems such as Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel,

-ability to communicate online using email, social media or other tools such as Zoom and Teams.

-searching for reliable information on the internet.

-About knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors that contribute to individual and organizational performance.

-About knowledge as information developed or learned through experience, study or research.

- About digital skills - also called IT skills which refer to the ability to use different devices such as a smartphone or laptop.

- About the confidence and understanding that should enable them to thrive in a digital society.

Contribution to the Development of the Course/Program

Students and teachers from Iustin Pîrvu Secondary School have actively contributed to shaping the curriculum of the new digital education discipline by proposing objectives, activities, content, and examples enriched with educational resources. Their collaborative input has ensured that the course remains engaging, relevant, and practical, fostering essential digital skills for the modern world.

Student Contributions

Students have played a vital role in identifying real-world applications of digital skills. Their contributions include:

  • Interactive Activities: Suggestions for gamified quizzes, coding challenges, and hands-on cybersecurity exercises.
  • Content Ideas: Proposals for lessons on social media literacy, ethical AI use, and responsible online behavior.
  • Project-Based Learning: Recommendations for collaborative digital projects, such as website development, digital storytelling, and video creation.

Teacher Contributions

Teachers have proposed structured objectives and methodologies to enhance learning, including:

  • Blended Learning Approaches: Integrating online platforms (Google Classroom, Kahoot, Scratch) with in-class activities.
  • Case Studies & Real-World Examples: Teaching cybersecurity through real-life hacking incidents and solutions.
  • Educational Resources: Selection of open-access materials, tutorials, and interactive simulations from platforms such as Khan Academy, Code.org, and Common Sense Education.

By integrating these contributions, the program ensures an interactive, student-centered learning experience, preparing students for both academic and professional success in the digital era.
