The Domestic Goods Week in Türkiye

The Domestic Goods Week is one of the specific days and weeks celebrated in all schools between 12th and 18th December in Türkiye. In this week, teachers share information about attitutes, investments and local goods. Students prepare healthy foods and share them with their friends and teachers. The aim of the week is to increase domestic consumption.

Visit of ENEEGYL Agrinio Students to a Local Olive Mill

On 12 December, the students of ENEEGYL Agrinio participated in an educational visit to a local olive mill as part of their introduction to the primary production sector, specifically focusing on olive oil production.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the entire olive oil production process, from the harvesting and processing of olives to the final product. They were introduced to the operation of the machinery used at each stage of production, such as:

  • Cleaning and washing the olives.

  • Crushing and kneading the olives.

  • Extracting the olive oil through centrifugation.

The olive mill staff explained the importance of high-quality raw materials, modern technologies employed in the production process, and adherence to health and safety standards. Additionally, they discussed the differences between types of olive oil (e.g., extra virgin, virgin, pomace oil) and their uses.

The visit concluded with a Q&A session, where students expressed their interest in the production processes and the implementation of renewable energy sources in modern olive mills.

This activity is part of the school’s environmental and vocational education program, offering students the chance to gain knowledge and experience related to agriculture and processing industries.

The visit proved to be highly productive, enriching the students’ knowledge while strengthening their connection to local production and the nutritional traditions of the region.

 

 

Visit of ENEEGYL Agrinio Students to a Local Olive Mill

Additional at our school, we create flavored oil using organic olive oil and aromatic herbs grown in our school garden, such as bay leaves and rosemary. The process involves selecting fresh or dried herbs, which we add to the olive oil, allowing them to infuse over time to release their aromas and beneficial properties. The result is a unique product, perfect for culinary use, that enhances the flavors and fragrances of nature while reflecting our commitment to sustainable cultivation and traditional production methods.

As part of the celebration the Domestic Goods Week, our parents prepared recipes in our class that would make students love vegetables. Students prepared their own fruit masks. Our event, which emphasized the importance of eating vegetables and fruits, was enjoyable and satisfying.

My special flavor was "spinach cake". The students ate it with great pleasure.
