Playful geometry: shapes and spaces in Europe

The project theme is centered on an active, playful, and comparative exploration of Geometry ("Space and Figures") in the real world. This exploration will move beyond traditional textbook learning to engage students in finding and analyzing geometric elements within their immediate surroundings—the classroom, the school building, and the local urban or natural environment. This project focuses on empowering second-grade students (ages 7-8) to become "Geometric Detectives" within their local and European contexts. Pupils will actively discover and compare the properties of plane shapes (squares, circles, triangles) and solid figures (cubes, cylinders, pyramids), and master fundamental spatial relationships (orientation, position, movement).
