Philosophy with Movies

Today's world is the world of individuals who are prejudiced against individuals and ideas. It is a world where people categorize each other by religion, language, race, and sex, differentiating who is different and even polarizing them with hate speech. So how can we teach the student that it is normal to think differently, why he / she can think of something and transfer it to someone else and express himself without conflict? How can we improve the behavior of the other - even if he thinks differently - to respect his / her opinion? How can we gain reasoning ability? In our project, philosophy will be used as a tool for our students to tolerate differences. And we will use the movies while doing this. We aim to learn how we can put philosophy into practice in our current life and to develop our students' ability to wonder and ask questions, think deeply, analyze cause and effect relationships, think critically, reason and raise individuals who can embrace differences.

Ayvacık Imam Hatip High School Project; with movies Philosophy!

Ayvacık Anatolian High School continues to equip its students with different knowledge and skills with new international projects, despite the pandemic conditions, after the project for which it was awarded the European Quality Label last year.

Ayvacık Anatolian High School, which aims to raise individuals who are not prejudiced against individuals and ideas, who do not classify people according to religion, language, race and gender, and who can communicate within the framework of tolerance, signed the "Philosophy with Films" European project.

The Philosophy with Movies Project, which started with the international online meeting held in October 2020, is an eTwinning project initiated by Ayvacık Anatolian High School. One school each from Poland (Plock), Romania (Braila), Italy (Copertino), Croatia (Zagreb) and 6 schools from Turkey participated in the project. A total of 12 teachers and 126 students took part in the project, which was realized with the participation of schools from Ankara, Istanbul and Eskişehir, apart from Ayvacık Anatolian Imam Hatip High School.
