On the second day all the participants took on a trip to Viðfjörður with a boat. Viðfjörður is a remote fjord near Neskaupstaður. In the fjord there is a house which is now used as a summer house but people lived in it some decades ago. In the house there is electricity, but phone connection is almost none and there is no internet. The electricity for the house is made in the fjord where water from a river is used to produce energy.

The only way to access the fjord is by boat or by jeeps during the summer time.

The students had the opportunity to walk around and visit the house and their task was to imagine how they could live in a place like this. How they could live sustainably without many things we are used to in our everyday lives.
