Aim of the Project
eTwinning Project: "Once upon...a school"
Purpose: The goal of the project is to engage 2nd-grade students in discovering and exploring the history of their own school while learning about schools in other countries. Through collaborative activities, the children will explore how their school has evolved over time and exchange experiences with peers in other schools. This project aims to enhance students' understanding of cultural diversity, historical awareness, and educational heritage, while fostering digital creativity, communication, and collaboration skills.
Key Objectives:
- Exploring School History:
- Students will investigate the history of their own school, including significant events, key milestones, and how the school has changed over time.
- They will use digital tools to research and create presentations about the history of their school.
- Cultural Exchange:
- Students will collaborate with schools from other countries to learn about the history of their peers' schools and educational traditions.
- This will promote cultural awareness and help students understand different educational environments and practices.
- Developing Digital Skills:
- Students will use digital tools (such as PowerPoint, Book Creator, and Kahoot) to create interactive content like quizzes, timelines, and virtual tours of their schools.
- They will engage with eTwinning’s online platform for safe communication, sharing their work, and interacting with other students.
- Building Communication and Collaboration Skills:
- Through collaboration with international schools, students will practice communication and teamwork in both their native language and English.
- They will participate in online discussions, group activities, and presentations, enhancing their digital literacy.
- Promoting Creativity and Fun Learning:
- Activities such as creating school models, art projects, and digital storytelling will make learning about the history of the school fun and interactive.
- The students will express their creativity through art, videos, and digital tools while learning about the past and present of their educational institution.
