Every day, the hero known as Kappa lived a quiet life along the sunny coast of California.

 By day, he seemed like an ordinary boy who loved the ocean, surfing the waves and walking along the beaches like everyone else. 

But Kappa carried a powerful secret. He was brave, strong, and above all, kind. Across the West Coast, people whispered stories about the “Guardian Ghost” ,

a mysterious figure who appeared whenever someone was in danger and vanished before anyone could see him clearly.

Kappa’s powers came from the sun. 

By absorbing sunlight, he could activate his Solar-Kinetic Speed, allowing him to move as fast as a flash of light. 

He also had the power of invisibility, which helped him rescue people without revealing who he truly was. 

Kappa enjoyed helping others in secret, and for a long time, life felt peaceful. 

Still, deep inside, he often wondered if one day he would face a challenge his light could not overcome.

One afternoon, Kappa raced along the shoreline, sunlight fueling every step. 

Suddenly, the world dimmed around him. 

The golden glow surrounding his body flickered weakly before fading away completely. 

He skidded to a stop and looked up in shock.

The sun was disappearing.

A dark circle slid across it far too quickly to be natural, swallowing the sunlight until the sky turned a cold gray. 

The warmth Kappa depended on vanished almost instantly.

“No… this isn’t right,” he whispered.

He tried to gather energy from the fading sunlight, but nothing happened. 

His Solar-Kinetic Speed failed him, leaving his body heavy and weak. 

Even his invisibility flickered and disappeared completely.

For the first time in years, Kappa stood powerless.

Around him, people stared at the sky in confusion as waves crashed violently against the shore. 

A strange chill spread through the air.

Kappa clenched his fists. This was not a normal eclipse. Something was blocking the sun, stealing it.

Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself.

“If I can’t use my powers,” he said quietly, “then I’ll just have to figure this out without them.”

With one last glance at the darkened sky, Kappa ran inland toward the city, determined to uncover the truth.

But the city no longer felt familiar beneath the shadowed sky.

Solar-powered traffic lights had stopped working, leaving cars trapped in endless traffic jams. 

Store signs flickered black. 

Phones lost signal one after another, and frightened crowds gathered in the streets, staring upward at the darkened sun. 

Fear spread quickly as people realized something was terribly wrong.

And with every passing minute, Kappa felt his powers fading further away.

Every step became harder. His invisibility barely worked for more than a few seconds. 

For the first time since becoming the Guardian Ghost, Kappa felt helpless.

“What if the sun never comes back?” he thought. “What if I stay powerless forever?”

As more panic spread through the city, Kappa noticed a group of emergency workers near the harbor struggling to repair a broken solar generator that powered the city’s communication towers. 

Standing beside the damaged machine was Kira, a young mechanic and engineering student Kappa had seen many times before around the coast. 

Kira was known for fixing solar-powered equipment all over the city, and unlike everyone else, she remained calm.

Kappa watched as she carefully opened the damaged generator and pulled out a strange black crystal hidden inside.

“This shouldn’t be here,” Kira whispered.

The crystal pulsed with dark energy.

The moment Kappa looked at it, weakness rushed through his body.

Kira noticed immediately.

“You felt that too, didn’t you? You are the Guardian Angel are'nt you?” she asked.

For a moment, Kappa considered hiding the truth like he always had. 

But fear was growing inside him, and deep down, he knew he could not solve this alone.

“I am and that thing,” Kappa admitted quietly, “it’s connected to the eclipse somehow.”

Kira looked surprised, but quickly composed herself and nodded seriously.

“I thought so,” she said. “We’ve been finding these crystals inside every failed solar machine in the city.”

Together, they realized the eclipse was not natural. 

Something was draining energy directly from the sun itself.

While the city sank deeper into chaos, Kappa and Kira began searching for the source of the crystals. 

Their journey led them through dark neighborhoods and abandoned streets filled with frightened people. 

Everywhere they went, technology failed and strange black crystals appeared inside broken machines.

As the darkness spread, Kappa became weaker every hour. Without sunlight, he could barely defend himself anymore.

Eventually, the energy trail led them to an abandoned solar research station built high on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. 

Years ago, scientists had used the station to study ways of storing sunlight as energy, but now the building stood silent beneath the black sky.

Inside the station, Kappa and Kira discovered the source of the crystals: a massive sphere of darkness hidden deep beneath the laboratory. 

It pulsed slowly like a giant heartbeat, feeding on solar energy stolen from the sun itself.

Then the shadows around them began to move.

Dark creatures rose from the walls, their glowing eyes fixed on Kappa.

Fear hit him instantly. Without his speed, he felt powerless against them. 

Every instinct told him to run.

But Kira stood beside him, scared, but without backing away.

“We can still stop this.” she said firmly. “Together.”

At that moment, Kappa understood something important. Courage did not mean being fearless. It meant stepping forward despite fear.

Even terrified, Kappa moved between Kira and the shadow creatures.

While Kira worked to overload the sphere using the station’s remaining energy, Kappa fought to protect her with the little strength he had left. 

The creatures surrounded him from every side, but he refused to give up.

Finally, Kira shouted, “Now, Kappa!”

Using the last small piece of sunlight still burning inside him, Kappa charged forward and struck the center of the dark sphere with all his remaining strength.

For one long moment, everything went silent.

Then cracks of golden light spread across the darkness.

The sphere shattered.

Instantly, sunlight burst across the sky once again. 

Warm light flooded the ocean, the city, and the streets below. 

Traffic lights flickered back to life. Phones regained signal. 

Across California, frightened crowds watched in amazement as the eclipse disappeared and the warm light of the sun reappears.

Kappa stood exhausted at the edge of the cliffs as sunlight warmed his face once more.

His powers had returned.

But something inside him had changed forever.

Before this adventure, Kappa believed his strength came only from the sun and his powers. 

Now he understood his true strength came from his choices, from protecting others, facing fear, and refusing to give up even in the darkness.

And as Kira stood beside him beneath the returning sunlight, Kappa realized he no longer had to carry the burden of being the Guardian Ghost alone.  ~(Mirja)
