Little European Citizens: Our Voices, Our Community

Participating countries: Spain, Greece, Turkey, North Macedonia Project duration: September 2025 - May 2026 Subjects involved: English, Art, Social Science, IT Language of communication: English Objectives: · • Foster civic awareness and a sense of European community among children. · • Develop English communication skills through real-world interaction. · • Promote values such as empathy, respect, diversity, and cooperation. · • Use digital tools to express, collaborate, and create. · • Encourage creativity through art activities linked to identity and community. · • Stimulate active participation of pupils as 'little citizens' in their local and European environment. Suggested Timeline and Activities: September - October: Getting to know each other Objectives: Introduction of students and partner countries. · • Create avatars or self-portraits and upload them to TwinSpace. · • Record short audio or video introductions (using Flip, Voki, or Canva). · • Interactive map showing partner schools and local symbols (Thinglink, Genially). · • Guessing game: 'Where am I from?' using cultural clues. November - December: Our local community Objectives: Explore key elements of students' local communities. · • Create a digital postcard about the local city or village. · • Interview community members: teachers, family, neighbours. · • Collaborative collage: 'My Ideal Community'. · • Share winter or Christmas traditions in partner countries. January - February: Rights, duties, and values Objectives: Reflect on children's rights and European values. · • Collaborative comics about children’s rights (Pixton, StoryJumper). · • Create a 'Book of Values' – one page per country with drawings and messages. · • Peace Day activity: digital mural or joint video message. March - April: Our voices matter Objectives: Encourage students to express their vision for a better world. · • Record audio or podcasts with improvement ideas for their school or city. · • 'Little Citizens' Parliament': presentation of suggestions. · • Online class meetings to share proposals. · • Design digital posters or slogans promoting active citizenship. May: Final reflections and celebration Objectives: Celebrate the journey and evaluate the outcomes. · • Final project video summary. · • Virtual exhibition of all student-created materials. · • Certificates of participation and celebration event. · • Evaluation surveys for students and teachers (Google Forms, Padlet).
