Historical, Sociological and Touristic Dimensions of the Competition Between Well-established Football Clubs

In our project, well-established football clubs established in cities in Europe will be examined. The relationship of these clubs with their eternal rivals in the matches called debi and the fan culture will be discussed. The historical and sociological dimensions of this relationship will be examined as it reflects the district where the football club was established, and the district culture on the club and its fan base. Interviews will be conducted with former athletes, fans, tribune leaders and neighborhood tradesmen of the sample clubs. In addition, on the match days of these clubs, Vlogs will be shot describing the pre-match fan rituals and the matches will be attended. Efforts will be made to increase the market share of local competitions between these well-established clubs in industrial football, and to bring countries into sports tourism by creating alternative tourism routes not only as matches but also through stadiums and museums. Well-established clubs, fan and neighborhood culture, local competition and tourism potential, which are treated in the same way in partner countries, will be compared between countries and will be presented regularly in online meetings.
