To Healthy Lifestyle Step by Step

We would like our students to share experiences, ideas and suggestions so that they can be able to choose healthy lifestyles, including ways to improve their success at school and suitable opportunities to identify and deal with emotions. . We want our students to grow up as responsible citizens, developing their creativity, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills, and promoting entrepreneurship. We would like them to rediscover traditional games and outdoors activities important to promote well-being and social skills, as nowadays they are constantly "glued" to mobile phones and other screens, spending less time in the open air and contacting with nature, thus it will enhance the opportunity to foster environmental protection, cultural heritage awareness as well as promoting healthy lifestyles that can lead to success, well-being and happiness.

Portuguese Traditional games - a collection of the most played games by our parents and grandparents

For the last 2 school years (2020-2022) Portuguese students in class 9A have been doing a research work monitored by their PE teacher, Mário Maia, about Traditional games in our region, according to information they have collected with the help of their parents and grandparents. In the last school day, on June 7th we organised an Event with  grandparents and we all played some of these games . It was a moment to exchange experiences and have fun. Older students taught their younger friends from 5th grade how to play some games and the youngest sang songs, then we had a picnic together.

With this book Livrinho de Jogos, we hope you too can have the opportunity to try these games and enjoy yourself a lot. We have also realised there are some similar games in your countries, with similar objectives, despite the names might differ a bit.

You can find the book on this page:

Have fun!

On Tuesday, 31st May in Escola Secundaria da Lousã class 9A participated in a workshop about board games, for one hour and a half no mobile phones were used and there was the opportunity to play 4 different games in groups. The idea is that students avoid being "glued" to their mobile phones and start trying different activities in their free time.
