In our project, we use our cultural sembols, Karagöz and Hacivat, to make our students speak English. Sometimes students are unwilling to speak English even if they can. That's why we will use Karagöz and Hacivat puppets to encourage our students to speak as if they are not the ones speaking, but the puppets! We are looking for partners from both Turkey and the other countries. Every country will join the project with their cultural symbols. They will create their puppets, students will take videos while the puppets are speaking, then I will create a video including all the videos in small amounts. We will decide the topics together ( like daily routines, weather forecast, colors, numbers, school objects, food and drinks, counties and nationalities, free time, clothes, jobs, feelings, family members etc.) I believe the videos will be great and students will see that it is not so hard to speak English.
