What do we want to achieve?
The main goal is to develop an overall concept for schools,
which want to become more bicycle-friendly
Time frame
October 2023 until March 2025
Who is taking part of the project?
Students and teachers of 4 schools in Europe
- La Salle in Almeria, Spain
- Gottlieb-Daimler-Schule 2 in Sindelfingen, Germany
- HTL in St. Pölten, Austria
- LTETT in Ettelbruck, Luxemburg
Why do we do that?
Each achieved switch to bicycles is a contribution to CO2 savings.
This overall concept is intended to show each school a way to become a more
bicycle-friendly school, in order to make cycling more attractive in the daily
lives of students and teachers.
What does it include?
- the development and testing of a certification tool to audit a school towards "bicycle-friendliness”.
- the elaboration of didactic material regarding the health and safety aspects of cycling.
- As part of the "Sniffer-Bike" project, a measuring system will be developed that can be attached to a bicycle. This measurement system will be used to measure air quality/pollutant levels while riding. This will make it possible to identify low-pollution cycling routes.
- promoting soft skills, social inclusion and social diversity via workshops and social activities in mixed groups
- communication and dissemination of the project progress and the results
How do we do that?
- Specific project activities at each school
- Face-to-face project planning meeting between teachers
- Coordination and planning meetings with students and teachers via Teams
- 4 working and exchange face-to-face meetings in Almeria, Sindelfingen, Ettelbruck and St. Pölten
- Hospitations
- Exchange meetings with external partners
- Internal communication via Teams and twinspace
- External communication via Social Media, YouTube channel, websites and twinspace
