We celebrated Europe Day and eTwinning Day in class with reading comprehension activities and learnt about the reason for their celebration. Additionally, we played games created for the project about flags, countries, capitals, nationalities, etc., and visited the European Union website to use their games and watch a video.

Europe Day has been celebrated on 9th May every year since 1985 in honour of the speech of unity delivered by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman after the end of the Second World War, calling for the continent of Europe to be free of war.
 

Its flag is made up of 12 yellow stars, representing unity and solidarity among the peoples of Europe, arranged in a circle on a blue background. Its anthem has its origins in the Ode to Joy, written by Friedrich Schiller and composed by Beethoven for his ninth symphony.

Playing games related to flags, countries, capitals, and nationalities is an excellent way to learn about the geography of Europe and the cultural diversity of its countries. Students could form teams and compete to see who can correctly identify the flag, country, capital, or nationality the fastest. This is not only fun but also helps reinforce learning.

Visiting the European Union website is a fantastic way to access interactive resources, games, and educational videos. On the European Union website, students can find interactive games about the geography of Europe, the history of the European Union, European symbols, and many other related topics. Additionally, they can watch videos that illustrate the importance of the European Union and its impact on people's lives.

There's so much to discover about the European Union! Students had fun with this series of games and quizzes, as well as writing and reading the info. These games were created for different age groups and at different levels, and each game was played at school and continued at home.

We celebrated Day of Europe and eTwinning Day with the students participating in this project so they were aware of the European conciousness and the importance of the European identity. We did activities of the project on that day and posted on the European projects school account on Instagram.

On May 9th we celebrated Europe's Day. We did activities in our class but we also participated in joint activities with the whole school, such as decorating the classroom doors.
