The Cravat

We would like to describe our culture and traditions, but also we would like to meet everyday living between two schools. The word 'cravat' comes from the French pronunciation of Croate, ‘cravate’, which was applied to Croatian mercenaries in the 1630s. Their unusual neck wear consisting of long strips of fabric draped around the neck and tied in front was part of the mercenaries' battle dress, and it caught the fancy of French fashionistas. The project "Cravat" is for two schools: Collège Monséjour (Boredaux, France) and Dobriša Cesarić Primary school (Zagreb, Croatia). The goals are meeting students from two schools, encourage students to use English and Web 2.0 tools and share information about their heritage. Key words: culture, everyday living, foreign language, ICT skills.
