Pre-primary schools heAlth education Network, PAN, have a shared concern for the future health of our children and the environment. PAN has chosen the topic health Education because an increasingly number of children are becoming overweight and pursuing non-physical activities. Health education is closely related to sustainability and healthy lifestyle. It is important to foster healthy lifestyle for the children in a pedagogical creative way linked to goals in the curriculum. Between August 2008 and July 2010, staff within pre-primary schools in Sweden, Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Bulgaria will exchange good practice and create pedagogical tools within the healthy education field. The healthy education is broken down into three main areas: healthy food, physical activities and a sustainable environment. Each partner will participate in all areas, but there will be a lead partner who will facilitate the learning. Children will try best pedagogical activities from each country. The outcome will be a European wide guideline of best practice of pedagogical tools in the topic, published at the website, like Comenius said: bring education to all. The end-users, the children, are Europe’s future and if we work together we can give them the best start in life - sustainable healthy education.
