Climate Change and Biodiversity

The General Assembly of the United Nations declared the year 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health, ending a whole decade dedicated to Biodiversity. This brings increased public awareness to the importance of plant health in solving global issues relating to threats to the environment and the importance of safeguarding biodiversity for the continuity of life on earth. Furthermore, we have witnessed many changes around the world. pertaining to rises in temperatures, leading to fires, drought, floods, etc. There is a general concern for global warming and climate change, which have many groups of people demonstrating and calling out to government officials to create measures to protect the planet before we all become extinct. On Friday, September 24th, 2021, the partner schools from the Project “Climate Change and Biodiversity” met online, using the platform ZOOM. This meeting was held to organize our first mobility, which will be a short-term staff training in Iceland during the week of November 1st to 5th, 2021.

On Wednesday, June 16th, 2021, the partner schools from the Project “Climate Change and Biodiversity” met online, using the platform ZOOM. The project has been extended and the group discussed new dates for the activities and mobilities of the project. The partners talked about the possibility of a staff meeting in Iceland in the beginning of the new school year to organise our activities better. The development of the game app was also discussed. It was a productive meeting.
