My name is Artemis Tsekoura and I  attend the second grade of the first high school of Preveza Greece. My favorite subject is Biology. I am particularly interested in the environment, man-made and natural, and the impacts they face. Pollution is everywhere, from litter on the streets to air pollution. Natural resources are constantly being polluted, water, air and soil. Only humans are responsible for this, constantly polluting the atmosphere with exhaust gases and the seas with waste.This is also the main reason for my participation in the program, to contribute, as far as possible, to the protection of the environment, the abuse of which constitutes an existential threat. To work together to better understand how the environment affects our health and well-being.To collect data on how people around the world are exposed to a range of environmental hazards, including air pollution, noise, climate change and chemicals. My name is Thania Stavridi  and I'm in the second grade of the first high-school of Preveza  - Greece. I really like the subjects physics and chemistry and I've been concidering to be a doctor. So we learned that the greenhouse effect and the ozone hole have devastating consequences for humans, plants and marine ecosystems. Several forms of cancer negative effects on humans vision reduction in harvest plants showing sensitivity to increased ultraviolet radiation, reduction of fish and shellfish in the first phase, due to reduced production of phytoplankton are some of the effects. So I participated in this project in order to help as much as I can in the protection of the environment. Initially with more complete information on a personal level and then actively  participating in information and awareness campaigns for people's personal protection and for limiting the use of substances that destroy the ozone layer.

My name is Teodora Enăchescu, and I am currently in the 10th grade at National College in Iași, Romania. I have a really like studying Geography and Physics, which has deepened my understanding of climate change and its far-reaching effects on our planet. Climate change leads to extreme and unpredictable weather conditions, significantly impacting ecosystems. These changes have serious consequences for humans, animals, and natural resources. For instance, heatwaves, floods, and droughts are becoming increasingly frequent and along with melting ice caps, threaten the habitats of thousands of species. So, I joined a program dedicated to addressing climate change and raising awareness about environmental protection. Through this initiative, I aim to encourage individuals to act and contribute to preserving the environment for future generations. By raising awareness, I hope to inspire changes and help create a more sustainable future for all.

Hello! My name is Miruna Onofrei and I am an 11th-grade student at Iasi National College. My favorite subjects are geography and biology. I am involved in everyday problems such as climate change and global warming. So I inform myself and do my best to help the environment as much as possible. I strongly believe the rise of sea and ocean levels is a serious problem that would affect millions of people since the highest population concentrations are along the coasts. What causes this hazard? Our actions. By reducing the carbon footprint, recycling, and using natural products, we contribute to change for the better. I believe we should work harder on the campaigns based on raising the awareness of these climate changes and global warming.

My name is Sabău Sabina Andreea, and I am a tenth-grade student in high school Colegiul National (second year of high school). I recently learned that July of this year was the hottest month ever recorded. It was also the 14th consecutive month in which a temperature record was broken. This made me realize how much these extreme temperatures are impacting us—I personally felt suffocated by the heat. This summer, every time my friends and I planned activities, we mostly opted for indoor options to avoid the unbearable heat. Whenever we tried to do something outside, we couldn't last more than two hours. The heat waves also had a significant impact on agriculture, drying out the soil and leaving plants without enough water to survive. For example, my grandparents own a small piece of land in their village where they grow fruits and vegetables. In the past, I was used to receiving kilograms of their produce every year, but starting last year—and especially this year—their production has noticeably decreased. My main goal in participating in this program is to learn how we can prevent global warming from worsening and find solutions to reduce its effects. I want to contribute to stopping this self-destruction because I believe a world where we can’t enjoy local food or even spend time outside comfortably is not the kind of future I want to live in.

My name is Alexandru Mereuță and I’m a senior student at Colegiul Național Iași, one of the most prestigious high schools in Romania. When it comes to my passions, I must say that chemistry is one of my main interests, as I love pursuing this scientific area, I’ve participated in a lot of projects and competitions and I hope to become a scientist in this domain. Even though, at the first glance, it might appear that chemistry and ecology (and sustainability, obviously) are not necessarily directly linked, this branch of science is the one dealing with pollutants, batteries, solar and nuclear energy and, in general, works continuously in developing modern solutions such that humans can sustain their lives reassured our planet is safe and accessible for generations to come. I am really interested in solving the actual problems our world is confronted with and this is one of the reasons I got involved into this programme. I am glad I had the chance to expand my background, gain new insightful knowledge and particularly connect with other international students with common interests and passions. I actually made lifelong friends I hope I’ll always stay connected to!

My name is Andrei Ionita and I am a student in my final year of high school Colegiul National. My passions include chemistry, art and reading and I am preparing to enter university to study organic chemistry. A big new interest in my field is "green chemistry" or known by others "white chemistry". What does this mean? What we are currently trying to do is discover new reactions or improve the old ways of synthesising organic compounds without the harmful chemical waste that most of reactions leave behind. Why are we trying to do this? Because we care about our environment and we try to discover new things and help humanity in a eco-friendly way that will keep us alive for longer. Also it benefits us to not have the toxic chemical waste after doing our job because it can lead to cancer or other serious health problems.

My name is Ilinca Istrate and I am a tenth-grade student at National College of Iași. Geography is one of my passions and I keenly study anything that's related to our environment, to our world. I love spending time in nature, thus I can certainly say that pollution is a real, up-to-date problem, both on a local and global scale. The devastating effects of pollution (such as global warming, the millions of tons of plastic thrown into seas every day that destroy ecosystems, and people getting sicker and sicker) can be felt not only by us, humans, but also by animals, a reality which I find truly heartbreaking. This motivates me to do the best I can to protect the environment near me, but also to learn and be aware of what happens worldwide and acknowledge the things that can be done on a larger scale. I am sure that this project will help me open up my vision in regard to the things that we can actively start doing to protect and regain our planet's health, working together with people whom I share a common interest with. This is what will bring real change, the change that our world needs.

My name is Laura Nechifor and i’m in the 9th grade of the National College Iasi. I’m passionate about biology and physics, and in the future I want to have a profession that involves the field of medicine. Pollution doesn’t just harm the environment—it disrupts ecosystems and affects our health. In recent years we have been facing the problem of harmful particles in the air. The essential elements for people to live (air, water, food) are attacked by pollution. Air pollution leads to respiratory problems like asthma and bronchitis. Water contamination causes diseases like cholera and other infections, and soil pollution can taint the food we eat with harmful chemicals. If we ignore these problems, we’re risking not just the planet’s future, but our own lives. By reducing waste, using sustainable resources, and embracing clean energy, we can ensure a future where both nature and humanity thrive. Trough actions such as awareness campaigns and organized local clean-ups we can show how small actions can protect both nature and human health. I think that the only ones responsible for the future of the planet and our health are us-people, and that is why I decided to participate in this project.

Hi! My name is Anemona Luchian and I attend the 11th grade at Iași National College, Romania. I'm passionate about environmental sciences, with a focus on physics and chemistry. I care deeply about the world around me and wish to protect and preserve it as much as I can. I chose to participate in this project in order to better myself and my understanding of how the environment is affected by humans, as well as to find out what each one of us can do to reverse the negative impact we have had on our beautiful planet. I was shocked to realize just how drastically factors like weather patterns have changed over the last couple centuries, with amplitudes exceeding usual climate change phenomena. Hazards, such as hurricanes, heat waves, floods, are increasingly more common, bringing about destruction and death. My participation in this project has inspired me to pay more attention to even the littlest things I can easily do for our environment, like avoiding wasting resources and limiting unnecessary consumption. Everyone can and should take action for our Earth.

My name is Ana Cojocariu, and I am a 9th-grade student at the National College Iași in Romania. My main passions are philosophy and poetry, but I also aspire to become a doctor and a scientific researcher. Therefore, I believe it is crucial to raise awareness about the human impact on the environment, as it reflects our daily lives. Humans are deeply connected to nature, and by polluting it unconsciously and carelessly, we end up poisoning ourselves. I wanted to participate in this project to highlight the negative effects of our current actions, encouraging change and, in fact, personal growth for each individual. By being more attentive and connected to what surrounds us, we come to understand ourselves better. As responsible, active members of society, it is our duty to conserve and promote values such as empathy and love, starting with compassion for our planet.

My name is Amalia Albianu, and I attend the first grade of high school at Colegiul Național Iași. One of my favorite subjects is Chemistry, as it allows me to understand the processes that shape the world around us. I am particularly fascinated by how chemistry can be applied to address real-world challenges, especially those related to the environment. From understanding how pollutants interact with air, water, and soil to exploring ways to create sustainable materials, I believe that chemistry plays a vital role in protecting our planet.

I have joined this project because I want to contribute in any way I can as a student. While I may not yet have the advanced knowledge of a scientist, I am passionate about learning and helping raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection. My name is Stancu Ilinca Maria and I am a student in the second grade of high school, in Iasi Romania. I am particularly interested in subjects such as mathematics and physics and how each one can be used in the process of fighting climate change and its devastating effects. Even though there is nothing that can be done about how it has already affected Earth, I am sure that we can predict and find solutions for climate related impacts. For example, using functions and mathematical calculus can help with answering important sustainability questions about greenhouse gas emissions, temperature fluctuations, and ocean currents. By analyzing such variables we compare different environmental solutions, such as renewable energy, recycling, or conservation. I am very curious about how one person can make a difference in the fight against climate change, but also how a group might have a positive impact when it comes to the environment.  Eventually I would appreciate to be a part of this project, for the simple reason that I would like to help with climate change and raising awareness about it.

My name is Maria Ioana Oglinzanu and I study at National College Iași. I’m passionate about literature, fashion design, reading, debate and history. I was interested in ecology since I was little. I’ve aways wanted to make a change, especially when it comes to everything that is surrounding us nowadays. After I discovered my passion for fashion design in 5th grade, I found out more about the industry behind it and the ways we can make it “healthier” for the environment and, of course, for us. In the last decades our work and industries endangered the habitats, the animals and, overall, the world we are living in. The reason why I chose to participate in this project is to be able to find solutions and ways to change the indifference that surrounds us every day, to help build a better world.  It’s time for us to make a change. It’s time for us to start caring about everything that is around us, about everything that we destroyed or endangered at some point. After all, the nature was always here for us. Now it's time for us to be by her side too.

My name is Leaută Ana, and I’m currently in the 10th grade at high school Colegiul National Iasi. Physics is my favorite subject because I find the laws of nature incredibly fascinating, particularly the way energy and forces interact in our world. I have a strong interest in how technology and scientific advancements can enhance people's lives. This curiosity has driven me to look into how physics can help tackle global issues like climate change and renewable energy. I joined this project to deepen my understanding of environmental challenges and to promote awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. I believe that grasping the role of physics in environmental sustainability is essential for a better future. Through this project, I aim to learn how we can minimize pollution and energy use while encouraging clean and efficient methods to create a healthier world for future generations.

My name is Diaconita Ioana and I am currently in the first grade of high school at Colegiul National Iasi, Romania. Some of the subjects I really enjoy are Biology, English and Romanian; as for the future, I am considering becoming a doctor or psychologist. Despite the fact that many people are informed about subjects related to climate change, such as global warming, I believe that our society doesn’t fully realise their behaviour has a real impact on the world. That is one of the many reasons I would like to participate on this project, as the key to improving our lifestyle (when speaking about sustainability) is raising awareness to the mass population, especially other teenagers. Through this opportunity, I would also like to learn more about ecology myself, as it is a really important subject especially in the context of the modern society we all live in.

During the project, we learned more about Greece and the city of Preveza. We performed various bonding tasks, collected trash along the seashore, learned about the diversity of local nature, presented our country, and participated in experiments.

During the project, we learned more about green and renewable energy, visited wind turbines, participated in a quiz on climate and environmental conservation, visited a nature reserve, conducted experiments, gave a presentation on green energy, and visited a technology museum on environmental conservation. We were welcomed into host families and got to know the culture and traditions.

BEMBERIS GUSTAVS, MILGRAVE ANNA, PUCKA RENARDS, REIHMANE ELZA, VILAUA KATE, ZALDENIECE ANETE we are 9th grade students from Jaunmārupe Primary School who participated in the visit to Turkey. During the visit, we visited and got to know the partner school.We were welcomed into host families and got to know the culture and traditions. During the project, we completed various tasks, worked with reusable materials, visited the city of Istanbul and gained many new insights into the culture, and visited a nature park and an aquarium.

We 9th graders from President Valdas Adamkus gymnasium (Lituania, Kaunas): Evita Jasinauskaitė, Kristina Garunkštytė, Emilija Petkutė, Auksė Blažaitytė, Simona Navikaitė participated in the first mobility in Romania.

 The week began with icebreaking activities, school presentations, and a guided cultural tour of the historic city of Iași. We explored ecological themes through science experiments, student-led conferences on sustainability, and upcycling workshops that encouraged creativity and eco-consciousness. A visit to the Botanical Garden combined outdoor learning and team-building games to raise awareness about climate action. Cultural immersion continued with university visits and traditional Romanian dinners hosted by local families.We enjoyed a full-day trip to Târgu Neamț, where they connected with nature, learned about biodiversity, and discovered local history and traditions. The emotional final day included reflections, feedback, certificate ceremonies, and shared performances, concluding a week of meaningful learning, cultural exchange, and strengthened European friendships.

We are a group of five 8th graders (from President Valdas Adamkus Gymnasium, Lithuania) who had the amazing opportunity to join the Erasmus+ programme in Preveza. Each of us brought something unique to the experience. Erika is our nature lover – she’s always curious about animals and ecosystems, so exploring the Amvrakikos Gulf was a dream come true for her. Mantas is super into science and experiments, so the chemistry lab where we made natural products really got him excited. Vilmantė is the creative one in the group – she loves arts, upcycling, and trying out traditional crafts, and she was thrilled to present our upcycled opera project. Justinas is passionate about history and loved visiting ancient sites and learning stories about Greek culture and mythology. And then there’s Jūnė, our team player and environmental activist – she really enjoyed the reforestation activity and the beach cleanup. Smiltė is into sports and outdoor adventures – he especially loved the walk by the seashore and playing traditional Greek games like “Abali.” Lastly, Milena is our foodie and culture enthusiast – she was fascinated by Greek cuisine and loved every moment spent with host families, tasting local dishes and learning about their traditions. Together, we made an amazing team, each contributing to the programme in our own way, learning from others, and making unforgettable memories.

We are six 8th graders (President Valdas Adamkus gymnasium, Lithuania) who had the incredible chance to explore the vibrant city of Istanbul as part of our school programme. Each of us had different interests that made the experience even more exciting. Elada, who’s passionate about architecture, was amazed by the beauty of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque – he couldn’t stop sketching the domes and details. Rugilė is a history enthusiast, and walking through Topkapi Palace and learning about the Ottoman Empire was a real adventure for her. Smilė loves photography and captured the magic of Istanbul’s busy streets, colorful markets, and views from the Bosphorus. Ieva is into literature and was fascinated by the stories, legends, and poetry she discovered in Istanbul’s culture. Manvydas is our tech-savvy guy who was impressed by how tradition and modernity blend in the city – from ancient buildings to the lively digital life in modern districts. And finally, Žygimantas, who dreams of becoming a chef, was in heaven tasting Turkish food – from kebabs to baklava and fresh pomegranate juice. Together, we explored the city with open minds and hearts, and every day brought something new to learn, taste, and remember.

We are six 8/9th-grade students (from President Valdas Adamkus gymnasium, Lithuania) who had the amazing opportunity to visit Cremona, a charming Italian city known for its music, history, and warm atmosphere. Justina, who plays the violin, was absolutely thrilled to visit the Violin Museum and see how world-famous instruments are made – she even got to hear a Stradivarius being played! Lukas, who loves history and old towns, enjoyed exploring Cremona’s medieval streets and climbing the tall Torrazzo tower to admire the breathtaking view. Gabija is passionate about drawing and was inspired by the elegant architecture and cozy piazzas – she filled pages of her sketchbook during the trip. Naglis, our foodie, couldn’t get enough of the Italian gelato and local pasta – he even learned how to make fresh gnocchi during a cooking activity! Andrėja is interested in languages and loved practicing her English and learning a few words in Italian while talking with local students. And Perla, who enjoys science, was fascinated by the hands-on workshops in the science museum and learning about the physics of sound. Our days in Cremona were filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments that brought us closer as a team and opened our eyes to the beauty of Italian culture.

Hi! our names are Giulio, Alessandro, Cinzia, Sara, Vittoria, Irene and Giorgia. We are students from Istituto Stanga, Cremona, Italy. Some of us took part in some of the mobilities of this fantastic Erasmus Project, some of us had the opportunity to host students from Latvia and Lithuania during the mobility in Italy. We enjoyed a lot sharing experiences with boys and girls from other countries, discovering different cultures and trying to improve our English. We are very grateful to have been part in this project that cares about our planet and we are sure to be a little more aware about this topic!
