JANUARY – Reflection & Debate: “Statistics – truth or manipulation?”

Goal: learn to recognize manipulation in data/visualizations; practice argumentation.

Tasks:

1. Visualization lab: how the Y-axis, choice of scale, chart type change the narrative (“manipulation game”)
2. Preparing theses and counter-theses for international debate (Oxford-style debate - teams of 2×2)
3. Monthly product: 4–6 short debate clips + description of manipulation cases (in English)

Collaboration/Checklist: focus on communication and common outcome (video), active methods, students as creators.
