The culmination of the whole week was Thursday evening – a joint  event with the host families of Balvi primary school students, whose homes became second homes for our guests. The Nordplus project is more than just school cooperation – it is a bridge between cultures and families. The evening began with an Erudite quiz about Balvi, Alsunga, Vilnius, Latvia and Lithuania, reinforcing the knowledge gained during the week. Singing together always brings us closer, so we all sang the Latvian folk song "Zīdi, zīdi, rudzu vōrpa" together. During the evening, certificates of participation were presented to the guests and the school's special Thanks to all the host families for the human warmth that was given to each guest. As a heartfelt surprise, the Balvi Bear himself arrived at the end of the evening to personally thank them for the new, beautiful memories created. The Bear wished everyone a safe journey home and memories of the warmth of Latgale.
