ICCS report cover

Published by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), the European ICCS report focuses on specific Europe-related civic and citizenship issues.

Key findings from the European report include:

  • Most eighth-grade students across the European ICCS 2022 participating countries expressed a strong sense of European identity.
  • A majority of students endorsed freedom of movement within Europe for citizens of European countries, although results also suggest considerable support for additional regulations among young people.
  • Students supported cooperation among European countries for the safeguarding of the environment and adopting common policies in Europe.
