Building inclusive territories: refugee and migrant integration for rural revitalisation
This policy brief by Share Network explores integration and inclusion for newcomers in rural communities across the EU.
Since 2012, Share has supported regions, cities, towns and rural communities interested in welcoming refugees and migrants. In its policy brief, it proposes an Inclusive Territories approach to guide rural territories and communities in participating as integration actors. It promotes:
- Integration policies and practices that are rooted in place-based solutions and tailored to the specific situations and capacities of individual territories,
- Bottom-up integration policymaking and programming driven by multistakeholder partnerships that value all people and contributions.
