The School started operating in the academic year 1984-1985 as the School of Nursery Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2000 it was renamed “School of Early Childhood Education” (SECEd), under which name it operates to this day.

In its 40 years of operation, SECEd has consistently served the science of education. It constantly develops a multitude of activities aiming to provide high-quality university education in the field of Early Childhood Education. By providing a multidimensional education in multiple scientific fields and applying the most modern teaching methods, it shapes future scientists capable of producing educational and research work in the context of modern changing societies, pursuing an education without discrimination, where communication and cooperation are established on the basis of solidarity, equality, freedom and democracy.
