The building of today's 43rd School "Hristo Smirnenski" is one of the oldest school buildings in Sofia. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century (around 1908) as a fourth-grade school. This was the time when the first landmark buildings of Sofia were built in the city center, such as: the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the National Assembly, the Central Bathhouse, the Halls, the Synodal Palace and others. 43rd Lower Secondary School "Hristo Smirnenski" has a reputation as a serious educational institution, which places emphasis on academic progress, creativity and discipline. Graduates of 43rd Lower Secondary School have numerous successes in the fields of science, art and sports rooms. Against this modern urban backdrop, the old school building is one of the few authentic architectural monuments that testify to the city's past. The reconstructed building has classrooms, study rooms, a computer lab, a playroom, a teacher's room with a work office, a student cafeteria.
