New Featured Group: Wellbeing@school

eTwinning opens a new group entirely dedicated to the well-being of students and teachers
Yan Krukov

Well-being is a state in which people are able to develop their potential creatively. Well-being at school means for the students to feel safe, valued and respected, to be actively involved and meaningfully engaged in academic and social activities, to have positive self-esteem, self-efficacy and a sense of autonomy, to have supportive relationships with peers and teachers, to feel a sense of belonging to their classroom and school, and to feel happy and satisfied with their lives at school.

The well-being of students and that of teachers is closely connected. Teachers need to experience a state of well-being themselves in order to be able to contribute to ensuring the well-being of their students.

All this is part of a more holistic view of education, which recognises that children and adolescents need a balanced set of cognitive, social and emotional competences to achieve positive outcomes in school and in life. Such an approach recognises the social, emotional and physical needs of children and young people, and includes well-being as a key learning goal.

Within this context, eTwinning opens a new group entirely dedicated to well-being for teachers and students following the priorities for 2023.

The new Featured Group Wellbeing@school is a place where teachers can:

  • share practice examples;
  • discuss teaching and learning methodologies;
  • find support for professional development.

Through this dedicated eTwinning Group, teachers will feel part of a community of peers where they will be able to share their expertise, connect and learn with other colleagues across Europe and beyond.
