Non-Formal Learning Methods And Techniques For Inclusion And Diversity
The Erasmus+ KA1 Course: Non-Formal Learning Methods and Techniques for Inclusion and Diversity equips educators with the tools to create inclusive learning environments that meet the diverse needs of 21st-century students. The course focuses on designing and implementing inclusive educational practices, addressing biases, and developing culturally responsive teaching strategies.
Description
The diversity of 21st-century students creates many challenges for teachers who did not experience the same diversity when they were students themselves. Among these, the most important challenge is to find a balance between "high" and "low" expectations that meet the different needs of students in a classroom and the most appropriate ways of working with students to build an inclusive learning environment.
In the process of education, non-formal education has a special role, integrated at the level of school education, but also at the level of youth, culture, sport, and leisure, continuing vocational training, and adult education.
Our course has a modular structure, it focuses on the holistic approach to curriculum development, the teacher-student partnership in the learning process, and the principles and particularities of interactive and self-directed learning.
Learning objectives
1. Design and implement inclusive educational practices that cater to the diverse needs of students, promoting social justice, equity, and equality.
2. Recognize and address bias and stereotyping in their own beliefs and behaviors, as well as in the curriculum and educational environment.

4. Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and understanding among students from diverse backgrounds.
5. Support students with special needs or disabilities, using adaptive strategies and accommodations to ensure their full participation and inclusion.
