Education interventions supporting newly arrived migrant and displaced children in their language learning needs

The war in Ukraine has displaced more than 7 million people, half of which are estimated to be children. Many of them have fled into EU Member States, who are now presented with the challenge of integrating refugee children into their education systems.

This report outlines the emerging practices in language provision to address the linguistic needs of refugee children, as well as highlighting existing practices that can be adopted to support their integration. It also touches on the systemic conditions needed to promote linguistically inclusive educational environments going forward.
